ABOUT ME

IMG_0998.JPG

Adam Lapallo has been telling stories practically since birth. At age 2, he was dictating stories for his co-op's writing group. By age 14, he had finished the first draft of his fantasy novel, The Kingdom of Dreams and Shadows, published by Greyfox Press when he was 17.

At age 12, he discovered the sport of fencing at the Mechanicsville Fencing Academy, a fencing club he would years later own and operate. Through his high school and college years, Lapallo competed in state and national fencing competitions around the country, earning national ratings in all three weapons (foil, epee, and sabre). In 2017, Lapallo was #1 in the Virginia Men's Foil ranking, and #2 in Men's Three-Weapon.

Lapallo attended Virginia Commonwealth University on a University scholarship. He graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and dual minors in Creative Writing and General Business.

During his time in film school, his short script, Limbo, was selected as the film program's Spring Film Production. The film was directed by DeVonte Spurlock and premiered at VCUarts Cinema's "First Cut" series.

When not on set or in the classroom, Lapallo was the head coach and treasurer of VCU's Quidditch club and led the team to competitions around the Mid-Atlantic Region. And no, they don't actually fly.

During his senior year, Lapallo won the Virginia Screenwriting Competition for his spec pilot, Wolfpack Fencers, and was honored at the 2017 Virginia Film Festival. Shortly after graduation, Lapallo joined the Virginia Screenwriters Forum.

Today, Lapallo's production group, Wolfpack Films, is a prominent voice in the Richmond filmmaking community. His films have screened at the Richmond International Film Festival, the Richmond Film Network, GenreBlast, Magic of Horror, and many other notable film festivals across Virginia and beyond. His most recent film, Untouchable, crowdfunded over $18,000 for its production budget and features an international cast that includes the fencing world's 2024 Senior Men's Epee Summer Nationals champion. The film is currently in post-production and expected to release in 2025.

Lapallo is the Assistant Director of the Virginia Screenwriters Forum. He is the creator and organizer of the VSF Short Film Showcase, an annual event to showcase the cinematic works of VSF's members. The third annual Showcase saw the premiere of Maggie Campbell, a film produced by VSF which Lapallo was asked to co-direct.

Lapallo is a Video Editor II for the CoStar Group, where he makes lifestyle content for Homes.com, and is the sabre coach at Blue Ridge Fencing Center in Charlottesville.
